Vire Clessé Vieilles Vignes 2021, Domaine Verizet
Brand: Domaine Verizet
Yellow color with golden reflections. Subtle and fresh nose with floral accents of linden and acacia with a hint of lime. Ample, round, unctuous on the palate. The suppleness of Chardonnay is balanced by a lovely freshness (lemongrass) with nuances of mint and fresh citrus fruits. Keep 2 to 4 years. Serve around 12°C. Viré-Clessé is a lord of the aperitif. With its aromatic complexity and its beautiful freshness and minerality it pairs like a dream with spices. Lamb curry, Bresse chicken lacquered with lemongrass, dishes with Asian notes… It is a wine that ages beautifully and, after a few years in the bottle, it will call for a Bresse chicken with cream, a veal chop with chanterelle mushrooms or a pike-perch with white butter! Vérizet's story tells of a terroir, first and foremost. The Chardonnay vine stocks have found their soil of choice on the Mâconnais slopes of the ancient Châtellenie de Vérizet, in Burgundy. A limestone terroir and the determined efforts of generations of winegrowers have given rise to white wines that are rounded, full-bodied, rich and subtle. A magical alliance between fruit and minerality.
