San Michele Appiano Pinot Grigio St Michael Eppan 2020
Brand: San Michele Appiano
Founded in 1909 and named after the village where it is located, the San Michele Appiano winery was the first cooperative to win the Gambero Rosso's prestigious 'WINERY OF THE YEAR' award in 2000. The award recognised the hard work and talent that winemaker Hans Terzer has applied over the last 24 years. He has consistently produced wines which have been recognised by critics as exceptional. Hand harvested grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The result is a typical South Tyrolean wine with excellent acidity, balance & structure. It has a lightly smokey fruit and great purity of flavour. This is one of the best Pinot Grigios that you will find; the difference in flavour and depth is amazing, so worth spending a few pounds more. Often appears in Matthew Jukes top 250 wines (see 2004) "This wine is terrific, loaded with intense apple and pear fruit, and oodles of thirst quenching acidity. It's the perfect pre-dinner glugger or relaxed lunchtime wine". Drink Now Aperitif, Shellfish Dry Light Bodied Pale Yellow Pinot Grigio Alto Adige, Italy San Michele Appiano 2020 Contains Sulphates
