Weingut Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke Spatlese 2012, Donnhof
Brand: Weingut Donnhoff
The river Nahe (which gives its name to this extremely attractive, rural region) flows north out of the Hunstrück hills and joins the Rhein at Bingen. The best vineyard sites (Niederhausen, Schlossböckelheim, Oberhäusen and Norheim) are situated around the spa town of Bad Kreuznach and the best wines have a full, pure and clean grapey taste with a fine, balancing acidity and a hint of aromatic, minerally fruit. The Dönnhof estate has been in the same hands since 1750 and Helmut Dönnhof is undoubtedly one of the Nahe’s (and probably one of Germany’s) best producers, making Rieslings from 15 hectares of prime vineyard sites with a wonderful combination of finesse, fragrance and racey fruitiness. In 1999, he won the coveted Gault Millau‘ Winemaker of the Year’ award.
