These rugs are woven by Turkmen and Hazara tribes in the central and northern provinces of Afghanistan. The wool is hand spun and dyed using only natural dyes such as cochineal and indigo, which adds to their dramatic and vibrant appearance. Hand knotted, 100% new wool pile natural dyes hand spun wool on a cotton foundation. Although this rug is woven by Afghan weavers the design is taken from the old traditional Persian garden. This stunning rug measures 5 feet 2 inches long by 3 feet 4 inches wide. ( 1.56 x 1.02 metres ).
