The core rule book is required to play the Call Of Cthulhu role-playing game and is itended as a rule and lore source for the Keeper Of Arcane (also known as simply The Keeper) who presents the adventure to the other players. The other players, the Investigators, should have one or more copies of the Investigator Handbook which provides expanded rules for character creation, skills, occupations, equipment, and more.
