A mini Chateauneuf du Pape with a great concentration of flavours. Full-bodied and powerful with lots of peppery spiciness.As well as making exceptional Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Daniel Brunier also makes this impressive Vin de Pays de Vaucluse called Le Pigeoulet Rouge which continues to win many new friends. The grapes are sourced from young parcels of vines within the southern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and also from 17 and a half acres of newly acquired vines situated on the slopes of Mont Ventoux.The grape mix is 80% Grenache, 10% Cabernet-Sauvignon 5% Syrah and 5% Cinsault and the vines have an average age of 20 years.The resulting wine is full bodied and chunky with a gamey nose and a long wholesome fruit in the mouth. It has incredibly good length with a fine, spicy punch on the finish.
